Urgent

Lightheadedness, near-syncope, bradycardia during infusion.

Protocol Steps

  1. 1

    Stop the infusion immediately

  2. 2

    Lay patient flat, elevate legs above heart level

  3. 3

    Apply cool compress to forehead and back of neck

  4. 4

    Monitor heart rate and blood pressure every 2 minutes

  5. 5

    Offer small sips of water when patient is alert

  6. 6

    If symptoms persist >5 minutes or worsen, call Medical Director

  7. 7

    If loss of consciousness occurs, call 911 immediately

  8. 8

    Document the event including time, vitals, and interventions
